Restaurants in Gettysburg

My husband and I will arrive about 8:00 this Friday. Any recommendations for a nice dinner? Thanks in advance.

You will find additional answers by searching on Gettysburg but my favorite is the Dobbins House - even the downstairs cafe/pub. Others prefer the nearby Fahrnsworth House.

Here is a second for the Dobbin House. We really enjoyed our recent meal there.

Before you go to dinner, try to see the battle field. It is AMAZING in the evening.

I know this is a late response, but our favorite restaurant in Gettysburg is the Blue Parrot Bistro in the James Gettys Hotel. Excellent food and a wonderful atmosphere. They also have the best desserts anywhere...try their cheesecake, you will think you went to heaven.

We recently ate in the Farnsworth House, and while it is "historic and haunted" the food is.....well in a word horrible. If you like spoon bread, pickled watermelon rind, overcooked tough beef and game pie then this place is for you. You can do the house tour, but avoid the food at all costs...you will need a roll of tums after that one.
