Restaurants in Boca

My parents have bought a home in Boca and I have not been in Florida now for many years. Is there really a super special restaurant I could go to with them? Price is not an object for this particular evening out.

La Vielle Paris was always considered "the" special occasion place. I've not been in some time and have heard food and service is not what it used to be. The Addison is another special occasion spot, again no recent experience. In general, I find the restaurants in Delray and Palm Beach more dependable/better quality.

If you like seafood, Kee Grill is very good and upbeat. For steak, New York Prime is supposed to be good (haven't been). Max's Grill in Mizner park is very popular. I like the ambiance of eating outside at the Italian, Pranzo, in Mizner Park.

Poster Ira was recently in Boca and wrote about several restaurants-Tiramisu-Le Vieux Paris (not the same place as above) sounds good, but may not be as fancy as you want. I was there before the recent mgmt. change and thought is was good. Here's his thread

It is actually very reasonably priced.
Bistro Provence in the 2300 block of N.Federal hwy, is charming, intimate, and fine, but not heavy, French food. We were so taken by it, that we went twice in a one week visit last year.

Thanks for the recommendation, but perhaps French is not the way to go. I live in Paris and my mother is French and is a frequent visitor here - though on the other hand she might love it, as she does miss certain things even after 30 years!

I'll check it out.

Thanks!

Two new good restaurants in Boca are Bova and Oppus 5. Both are excellent. We especially liked the atmosphere and food at Bova and loved the music there. It is like a supper club.

I'd skip New York Prime which is a "meat market" and Maxwell's Chop House. If you really want a steak house go to Flagler's at The Breakers in Palm Beach.

Try Cucina D'angelo - Italian resturant in the shopping center where Uncle Tai's chinese food & Morton's is (Town Center I think?) Really good Italian food & a nice atmosphere.

we were in Boca for Christmas and loved Opus. LOve it. The food was excellent. We are big fans of New York Prime-- such a fun festive atmosphere and the food is great-- and i am not a steak lover, but my DH is.

Although we enjoy Mizner park, it just doesn't have that "special place" vibe to me-- we like going there for lunch.

We ate at La Vielle 2 years ago and it was not to our liking.

Another elegant restaurant I forgot to mention is The Addison on Camino Real, oroginally built as Addison Mizner's offices. Beautiful courtyard, great food. And don't forget Bova.
