Restaurants in Bar Harbor

Can anyone suggest a few great restaurants in Bar Harbor? Also, what about Tenton's Lobster Pound? Thurston's Lobster Pound? Where is the best lobster roll?

Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound is our favorite, I'm sure they would do good lobster rolls, too, but we always go there for whole lobster dinners.

Our favorite restaurant of a number of years is Cafe This Way.

We visited Bar Harbor last week and had a lovely meal (with great cotes du rhone wines) at Cafe This Way. Also ate at McKay's Public House which was adequate, but not the rave others had promised. I wished we had tried Havana instead; it was the other one that had been highly recommended to me.

We were in Bar Harbor last summer and our most elegant meal was at Havana. Although pricey, it was worth it. We enjoyed breakfast on several days at the Cat's Eye and loved Cafe' This Way (?) as well.

There is also a good sandwich shop/bakery on the main street as you go into town across fromthe supermarket. Can't remember the name but they had great sandwiches.

I'm a new member. I had to reply to this even though it's from last year. I love Thurston's and plan to go back there this summer. Great lobster but then again where in Maine is there any bad lobster.

I'm drawing a blank. Can someone offer the name of the "downtown" reataurant that features blueberry breakfast items. Their BB pancakes were our all-time favorites!

I guessing either Cottage St. Bakery (which has an outside terrace), or Jordans (also located on Cottage St.

My family also loves "Maggie's"...not sure if there is more to the name of the restaurant, but I'm sure most people will know what you're talking about if you have to ask?

The woman who owns it does a great job of cooking with local or organic food and I think even has a booth at the Common Ground Fair in Sept??

Anyway, we went for dinner last year, as an engagement celebration for my sister and almost everyone had the lobster crepes....a little pricey, but WELL WORTH every last bite. Most amazing lobster dish I think I've ever had!!

Another vote for Cafe This Way. We tried Havana last year but liked Maggies and Cafe This Way better. McKays was very noisy, long wait and so so food. There was a great little sandwhich/coffee shop where we "The Field."
We are going back on Monday. Any idea of some of the restaurants are closed on Monday nights? Which one to recommend after a long day of driving?

Ate at McKay's recently. Service was bad - previous diners' dirty dish left on the table during the meal, their idea of an appropriate portion to be considered a bowl of clam chowder was laughable, food was just OK, server was vacant - brought us our bill combined with another table the first time, brought it back wrong again the second time, never offered more drinks. There are better places. Maggie's Classic Scales and Galyn's are two of them. Poor Boy's for sure for the lobster dinner.
