RESTAURANTS AT MGM GRAND HOTEL IN LAS VEGAS

My wife and I are going to Las Vegas for our tenth wedding anniversary. We will be staying at the MGM Grand Hotel. I was wondering about the quality of the restaurants there. Which ones are really good? What about their buffet? Which one would make the best choice for our anniversary dinner?

I don't know that I would limit my anniversary dinner choices to any of the MGM Grand choices because Vegas has some real dandies if you want to go top shelf. The Brown Derby is one of several nice respites from the buffet scene though.

THe MGM buffet is the worst that I've encountered in Las Vegas. It reminded me of a very expenisve cafeteria.

Unless you got an amazing room rate at the MGM, I'd reconsider your hotel choice. It's a large hotel and casino and is a hassle to just get across to leave the building. I don't find anything romantic or luxurious with this hotel. The Monte Carlo typically has some pretty good rates and is a smaller, calmer facility and would be a better anniversary hotel in my opinion.

The Bellagio and Paris buffets are both wonderful. Just be sure to get there early since the lines can get long.

Emerills is very good, but pricey. Nob Hill looked nice but didn't get a chance to try it.

We had a bad experience at the Brown Derby last year. Actually, it wasn't that bad, maybe mediocre, but for the prices we were paying, we were quite disappointed....Go somewhere else!

Nob Hill is new so I am not sure but we love Mark Miller's Coyote Cafe and the inside restaurant (not outside cafe which has great food but is super casual) is quiet and good service. Tino is our favorite waiter there. Aereola's (sp?) in Mandalay Bay is the premiere restaurant in Vegas...always in the top 5 and very very nice.
