Resort vacation with 1 yr. old
Can anyone suggest a resort, preferrably an all-inclusive, that allows kids and is a good place to go with a 1 year old? Would like the Caribbean or was even thinking of San Diego since a beach area is a must. Someplace for the parents to enjoy and a place that allows children but doesn't necessarily have to have children's programs since a one year old is too young to enjoy.
So far, this website has been EXTREMELY helpful to me in the past. Would appreciate your suggestions.
Thank you so much!!!

We went to the Beaches Resort in Turks & Caicos with our 7 mos. old back in 2001. The facility and restaurants were great. Our room in the main building was very old and needed much updating. However, the staff was very accommodating and moved us to a room in the French Village. It was fabulous! I would definitely request for a room in the French village - there's a children's pool there which makes it very convenient. Also, I would request for a crib in advance. I don't remember exactly whether it was a pack & play that they gave us or the quality of the crib. Needless to say, it was not very comfortable for our son. However, after much persistence, we learned that they had different types of cribs available, and we did get one that was acceptable to us. Overall, I would recommend going there if you are looking for some R&R. There is not much to do outside of the resort. The staff was very accommodating.

islandmom - where in Cozumel did you stay if you don't mind me asking? I love Mexico but haven't been to Cozumel yet.
Also, thank you "Sirin" for the tip about the crib. I've been to Turks & Caicos and thought the beaches there were beautiful!

Can't help with a specific resort, but did want to offer a tip. If you don't go all-inclusive per se, consider upgrading your stay to the "Concierge" or "Club" Level of any better hotel. This generally includes continental breakfast, tea w/light sandwhiches, evening desserts, and cocktails/champagne any time during the day. These rooms usually have one king bed and plenty of extra room for a crib or roll-away. However, they only allow a max of two adults and one child under a specified age. So, now's the time for you! It's not as expensive as going all-inc, yet you have everything you might need during the day - and get to pick a different restaurant each night for dinner independently.
From where are you going and what time of year? If you are east coast, Bermuda (in the summer) or the west coast of Florida (in the spring/fall) might be easiet with a toddler.
Wherever you end up, be sure baby has plenty of shade and sunscreen at the beach!
Enjoy!
