Report on Yellowstone trip
My family just returned from Yellowstone (8/6-8/13). Had a marvelous time! Highlights included lower, middle, & upper geyser basins, seeing Old Faithful Inn, the Canyon area with Lower Falls, an August snowstorm, and numerous wildlife sightings (bison, elk, moose, pronghorns, bears, etc.) We also went to Mammoth Hot Springs (not that great), did some hiking and fly fishing, saw Tower Falls, and drove over the Beartooth Pass just outside the northeast entrance. We stayed at Roosevelt Lodge's cabins (great rustic experience and the best food we had in the park) and did the horseback ride and chuckwagon cookout there. If anyone has any questions, would be happy to answer them.

Mammoth Hot Springs has pretty much dried up. There is a book available on each of the thermal features in rthe park. It is amazing how many of them have had a major change in characteristics in the past 130 yrs.
When my wife and kids went to Roosevelt for the horse ride (they really enjoyed it), they had to wait almost an hour for the two bears to leave the corral area.
I can also recommend the Old Faithful Lodge Cabins

Not Laura here but I was also just in Yellowstone...took some film with me (not enough). Bought some at the Mammoth gift shop (much more expensive, only had one option in terms of speed and amount). I use advantix and all they had of that style was 200 speed 2 pack for like $13 (ouch). I did not develop there, although they had a place to do it and no, the xrays did not damage (I carried on). Hope this helps.

I just left it in my carry on (a soft side patagonia bag) and let it go through the scanner. By the way, I've done this on many of my trips and have never had a problem. This time I was flying in and out of Portland, OR and San Diego, CA (the trip to Yellowstone was a road trip from Portland). Oh, I had both 200 and 400 speed kodak advantix film.
