Replacement for Gatlinburg TN

My family and I have been going to Gatlinburg for over 10 years. It has now become so crowded and commericalized that its just not the same. If anyone has a similar place that has yet to be over run, suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Bill

Where is L/Leone when you need him? How about Olive Oyl? I'm sure they would have some advice on this topic.

How about Maggie Valley or Bryson City, NC? The other side of the mountains with some activities but not as tacky and crowded.

Brevard NC home to a summer music camp. Not that from from Asheville or numerous waterfalls.

Boone NC (north of Asheville) and area. I know a good number of Fla. people summer in the area. Has some artsy stuff in town.

Maybe Roanoke/Blacksburg VA? I don't know much about either place, but still in the mountains and not too far from G-burg.

Kingsport TN. I don't know ANYTHING about the area, but I do know someone who was in the area for job-related reasons and liked what he saw.

Stay away from Cherokee. Tacky, tacky tacky.

Branson, Missouri, for a taste of down-home just like in the olden days!

Bill, it's bigger but why not try the Orlando area for a change of scenery. Crowded and to a degree commercial, but good, clean family fun. And you can get discounts in off season.

Try the North Georgia mountains especially the Blue Ridge and Ellijay areas. I even have a couple of websites for cabin rentals.
