Renting a car in Las Vegas
Hi there,
I will be renting a car from Las Vegas, in August for a 10-day road trip around nearby national parks.
Does anyone recommend getting the insurance (CDW, LDW) offered by the rental car company?
I am from Ontario, Canada, and my personal car insurance has Liability for Non-Owned vehicles. I also paid using a credit card which also has some coverage.
Is it worth getting the coverage on top from the rental car company (Dollar car rental)? I am not sure if my insurance covers vehicle theft.
Anything else I should be aware of? First time renting a car!
Thanks

I'm American so don't know about Canadian insurance -- but my personal policy does not cover me outside the USA. Does yours cover international rentals? Even if it does, liability doesn't cover damage done to the vehicle or yourself.
You need to carefully read what both your credit card and insurance policy cover

I'm in the opposite position as I'm an American planning to rent a car in Canada. I was very confident my insurance would cover me but I called to make sure. Turns out they cover my personal car in Canada but not rentals.
I completely agree that you should check your insurance, but if that doesn't cover you, ask your credit card company. Some will provide coverage in other countries.
Enjoy your trip.
