Rent- NYC

One of the shows that is a must see for my daughter is Rent. Do you suggest getting tickets ahead of time or waiting until we get there and do the 1/2 price ticket booth?

Thanks everyone.

When are you going?

There is usually a discount on broadwaybox.com. I like oprdering in advance because I like having tickets in hand before I leave. If there isn't a discount now, it's very likely it will be extended.

If you'd like to wait, Rent usually shows up at tkts - make sure to go to the South Street Seaport tkts booth. However, if you're going during the last week before it closes, I would definitely get tickets in advance.

Enjoy the show - it's one of my favorites

We are going July 31 to August 4. Any other suggestions for two 15 year olds to see...Broadway and off Broadway?

My guess would be that a new discount will be released for that time. And fyi, the original and current casts of Rent will perform at the Tonys on Sunday (6/15), if the girls are interested in watching on tv.

I'd second the recs of Hairspray and Legally Blonde. I haven't seen Altar Boyz, though have heard it's great!

I'd also add:
Wicked (if you are willing to pay full price. It's fabulous.)
In the Heights
Xanadu
