Actually I think it's all going quite nicely, a lot better than expected. No talk of monkeys or keilbasa, and not a troll anywhere in sight!

THis is what I had hoped the board would be all along. Friendly posts and good questions, and NO trolls. AHHHHH, a breath of fresh air.

Thank you Fodors for really listening and making this not only a better site, but a GREAT site and it will now just get better from here.

It's so refreshing to not have to wade through all the nonsense, hatefulness and filth.

It is also nice to not have to worry about every little thing I say. Before, every time I wrote something, I was having to be so careful not to say it wrong or mispell something so I didn't get slammed for it.

I shouldn't care but it was hard not to.

I have to agree with you, Connie. Both the US and the Europe boards are far less intimidating for me with the lower level of hostility so far. And I'm still seeing some entertaining responses.

There are far less posters and therefore far less information then there was before. Registration has hurt Fodor's not helped. Most of the threads have very few, if any, replies in them now. The great thing about Fodor's before registration was the fact that you heard so many different views.

As far as the troll posts, they were entertaining and often contained useful information as well.

If you took the slams, flames, mean and nasty posts, etc., to heart then perhaps you should be spending less time on the internet and more time with family and friends.

I think this board has become unbelievably stale and drab.

Jeff..I'm glad it has cleaned up the BS.But I do feel like fodors is like big brother watching what we all write. I'm sure some trolls had useful info. and just liked to have a little fun, just at our expense. Some troll topics were fun.

Two thumbs up! I like it! It cuts out all of the crap and people posting and reposting the same info; but using different names, just to get their point across.

Fewer posts and replies from new people. Seems boring. Hope more people register or this may simply turn into a travel chat room.

This IS boring. I've seen the same topics on the first page for three days now - *yawn* Too much self congratulations and patting on the back among the self-appointed ruling clique here. Looks like they finally have their wish - a travel chat site all to themselves. Hope the whiners are happy now.

Traffic has definitely decreased. Some of that may be due to the difficulties with posting replies, but I do agree with the previous poster who said that posters asking questions are likely to get less information now than they did pre-registration.

My guess is that the amount of useful information is roughly the same. There SEEMS to be a lot less usage because all of the kielbasa, monkey and assorted other troll posts are gone or very limited. It is odd about Hawaii, I admit. It's nice not seeing Maui in every post!

This is Jason, the once infamous instigator of trouble. This forum is boring. New new info. Dull, dry, uninteresting posts. I'll spice things up every once and a while.

I think all the people who wanted registration have to be the one's who are now praising this site. As far as I can tell there are far fewer posts and most are coming from the same old people. It borders on pathetic. Oh well, as somebody once said, "watch out what you wish for, you might just get it."

I stop by this site almost daily, and usually can find something helpful to post about. It was also fun to read all of the "bs" -if you will. {Can I say that here?}

The reading for fun has left for me, and I will have to get used to the new style.

Happy Trails,
Paul

BTW - This is my first post with the new format... yippiee-ty-yi-yo.
