We love the relatively new Stryker Sonoma winery in Alexander Valley (Geyserville). Just finished parceling out a case of zins and cabs as Xmas gifts!

I agree with the Rafanelli recommendation..oh my goodness what good wine and how much trouble I got into on Xmas Eve because of it-Think the sisters-in-law all at one end of the table getting ridiculous

The Zins and the Pinot Noirs of the Russian River area are not to be missed. The Rosenblum tasting room(Great Zins and a very decent Syrah "Rockpile Road") in downtown Healdsburg, Sausal(along the wine road), Merry Edwards(Pinot Noir-check SFgate .com for a recent article on her in the wine section) in Windsor-call for an appointment, Sapphire Hill in Healdsburg(Zins, Pinot Noirs and Syrahs) and Seghesio(old vine zins) in Healdsburg are all places I would recommend.

Another vote for Stryker (they also have a wonderful chardonnay) in the Alexander Valley. Beautiful location and terrific reds.
