Recommend a car service in Anchorage

We are going on an Alaska cruise at the end of this month. We depart from Seward, so need to get from Anchorage (where we are spending the night after our flight from Seattle) to Seward. While we could just get a taxi, I understand it is a long drive.

Any suggestions?

Use the cruise line's transfers, one of several bus services, or the train. A cab or car service would be impossibly expensive - it's almost 130 miles.

I would suggest the train. It's comfortable and better for photographers. Room to stretch.

The bus/van services make a few stops, but not the most comfortable trip.

The first time I cruised out of Seward, I used ACT. They also offer a private transfer for $380 direct.

Do you have to use their hotel in order to get transfers? Depends on the line, I guess...

They contract them out, anyways.

No, we don't have to use the cruise line's hotel in order to use their transport. We just have to get ourselves from our hotel to theirs. It will cost us $70 each for the transfer. I checked on other bus transfers, and they are all in the same range. By going with the cruise line, we won't have any other stops.

If you went direct with ACT, I think they pick you up at your hotel for the same price? I guess it might include "other stops" for other hotels in Anchorage, though.

Yes, that is my understanding. They would pick us up at our hotel, but there would likely be other stops.
