Reading The Forums is Dangerous!
Because after seeing a few recent threads on Alaska cruises I went to Vacations To Go website...and...
Booked on June 10 Noordam! It repeats the itinerary I did in September 2015, although a larger ship than Zaandam doesn't appear to have been remuddled...
Should be interesting to see the difference in early vs late summer.
This time I am taking the train down instead of the bus that stops at the wildlife center.
Hoping to be able to do the 5 hour Major Marine Resurrection Bay cruise which starts at noon..returns at 5pm..ship leaves at 8pm. I am checked in online. Major Marine says they can shuttle me to the cruise port after their tour..
Anyone think this is a bad idea..I really, really want to see Puffins!
I don't plan on doing any ships tours... I was sick in Juneau last trip... so hope to do the walk to the waterfall. Weather so far looks pretty good...chance of rain in Glacier Bay but Good as far as Juneau...Good Weather Fairy is workin' it.
Will pack tons of insect repellent...
PS I booked a run of house inside cabin for $499 pp which for a single occupant came to $1193. I added two nights in Vancouver at the end. Have an Airbnb booked in Richmond area. Got a cheap flight back home to LGB instead of LAX. I do not like to sit on the balcony..tried that on a repo cruise and went stir crazy. Noordam has a nice walking deck and still has the Crows Nest and Explorations Cafe.
