Raleigh or Nashville

We live in MI and are researching good places to retire in a warmer location. Has anyone retired to Raleigh NC or to Nashville TN? Are you happy with your new location? And why? Thank you!

If your edit 'window' is still open you might want to tag your thread for NC and Tennessee (one is only allowed to edit for a short time after posting and I'm not sure how long that is)

You'll have a milder climate than Michigan but personally if you are actively seeking a warmer climate you might go a bit more south of Raleigh.
You seem to want a good sized city. Even Charlotte will have a slightly milder climate than Raleigh--there is a line across NC roughly along I40 that is a "snow line".
What are you looking for more than 'warm"
