Rain in Boston :(

I'm somewhat saddened by the fact that it looks like my whole trip will be rained out. I'm checking out weather.com and it's scattered showers, partly cloudy, mostly cloudy the whole time I'm going to be there. Shoot.! So much for taking pix of the foliage with the beautiful blue sky as a background...and I better load up on my 400 speed film now, instead of the 100 I stocked up.

Missy--It's beautiful here now and should be throughout the weekend. Instead of the Weather Channel, who IMO do not give the most accurate forecasts, check out www.whdh.com and click weather. This is a link for a local TV station and they seem to give the best forecasts. You will have a wonderful time regardless of weather-trust me!

I really think you're being just a bit pessimistic there, Missy. I'm headed back home to Boston tomorrow after an extended business trip and I think the weather sounds kinda nice - really only partly cloudy most of the time with showers only a day or two next week. The weather in the Berkshires and up in NH sounds even better. Those foliage photos will look great with a few puffy clouds in that blue sky (don't forget your polarizing filter).

Thanks Besty, Dick and OhWell. I do tend to get anxious about all this and allow some negative thoughts to encroach upon my vacation thoughts. I promise to keep positive thoughts and make the best of it no matter what. Not too many people get to go see the foliage and such a lovely, historic state...so I'll stop my whining. Thanks so much for setting me straight. I was losing sight of myself and goals for a minute there.

Hi Missy,
The weather forecast for this area is spectacular! It's sunn and in the 70's right now and the forecast is for more of the same. Sunday was originally supposed to be iffy, but I think even that may have improved!

Hey Missy,

Don't feel so down about it. I love walking and I love Photography - some of my best photgraphs were taken in dim or subdued lighting conditions - something you won'y get when the sun is splitting the skies. Reflections of famous buildings or landmarks on street puddles! Close ups of water on flowers, insects or glass - to name only but 2.Living in Scotland, I suppose we had to make some use of the sheer over abundance of water from the skies. I am going out to Boston in february - I don't really care what the weather throws at me - I am looking forward to it.

Take care

Ken

BETSY, I forgot to say thanks for the tip on whdh.! It does sound better. I was starting to think weather.com was suspect.

KEN, what nice words. Thank you for your support and wishing you the best. The whole for me SHOULD be and is, getting away and having a nice time. I am trying to have less expectations and just go with the flow, whatever it may be.
EILEEN: that is wonderful to hear. Good to hear from you and that the forecast has been adjusted. Thank you again.

I usually find weather underground - wunderground.com to be the best. Weather.com never seems to work well for New England.

THat said, the current weather here in Boston is beautiful, and predicted to remain so through til Sunday.
