We will be staying at the Lowes Hotel in Annapolis this weekend - actually all day Friday, Friday night and leave late Sat. Morning. Any suggestions on the room type at the Lowes - got the room on Priceline. We have seen the Naval Academy - what are other suggestions to do. I know I would like to do some Christmas shopping - where can we have lunch and dinner Fri - Want seafood for dinner and a view of the water - Thanks!

All rooms other than the suites are pretty much the same. There is a club level but the rooms aren't significantly better than the regular rooms. I would request a room that doesn't face West Street if you are a light sleeper. It is quieter if your room faces the side, back, or inner courtyard.

O'Leary's and Carrol's Creek in Eastport are both very good seafood restaurants. O'Leary's is a little more expensive and Carrol's Creek may have a better view. The Chart House in Eastport is very nice, on the water, but probably better for a drink than dinner. Maryland Ave might be a good place to shop and have lunch at Galway Bay Irish Pub.

What is the name of the cobblestone street that is in Annapolis that goes down to the water where boats come in and dock. What resturants are good there? I have been on that street once and thought it was so quaint and remember lots of shops - can anyone help with the name of that street and how far from the Lowes would it be??

You're probably thinking of Main St. which is about a two block walk down to the dock area from Church Circle. Church Circle is a two block walk from Loewes. There are several restaurants around the dock all very popular on weekends. Middleton Tavern and McGarvey's both have seafood. I like the historic aspect of Middleton's. Phillips is a little further walk toward the water but is also very well known for seafood.
