My husband and I are going to b in Seattle for or first time we r going on an Alaskan cruise. Love food, beer and the outdoors. Any suggestions. So much to do in what looks like a beautiful city but such a short time to see Thanks.

Depending on how much time you have:

First time Seattle: Pike Street Market, Seattle Center & Chihuly House of Glass, International District.

Also: Boeing Museum of Flight, harbor tour, ride the Ducks.

Downtown: Live music at Triple door, jazz Alley and bars in Belltown.

If you have a day or two or three: Day trip to Mt Rainier Nat. Park, San Juan Islands, Olympic Peninsula.

I live in Seattle & consider the absolutely must-do highlights to be: Pike Place Public Market, Pioneer Square historic district, and the Space Needle.

How long are you here for? Do you need a hotel?

Take the ferry to Bainbridge for great views of the Seattle skyline and, on a clear day, Mt. Rainier, the Olympic Mountains to the West and the Cascade Mountains to the East.

Or, if you enjoy informative narration, take the Argosy sightseeing cruise that goes through the locks and into Lake Washington. Discounts are sometimes available at gold star.com

Or, see some Seattle neighborhoods by taking the #11 bus from 4th and Pine to 42nd Avenue East and East Madison Street. Check out Lake Washington and the cute shopping district. Have lunch at Cactus.
