Quick advice for Mammoth Cave area

Heading down to Mammoth Cave for a quick family trip in January (I know it will be cold and not as much to do, but warmer weather is trickier to find the time).
There's only one cave tour we can do so what else would you suggest around the area? That would include Bowling Green and Louisville. Kids are elementary school and preteen aged.

We did the Avenue/Boulevard Tour at Mammoth Cave and it was awesome but have no idea which one will be available for you. It is an amazing place with beautiful grounds and deer everywhere. Bardstown is a nice town worth a visit and there is a historic home there if I remember correctly--My Old Kentucky Home. Shakervillage is near Harrodsburg and the kids would probably enjoy it and you can stay on the property.

The Corvette museum in Bowling Green might be interesting. For a different caving experience, there is Lost River Cave in Bowling Green-can do a boat ride in the cave.
