Question regarding Wicked and..
day of tickets. I read online that there is a lottery if you show up two hours before where you can win front row tickets for $25. We're from CT and don't want to commit to buying $100 tickets, but were wondering how good the chances are of getting tickets day of via the lottery? Any other musicals that have day of discounted tickets? Thanks!

Your chances aren't great, especially on a Saturday. If you really want to see Wicked and will be disappointed if you don't win, I would commit to tickets in advance.
In addition to trying the TKTS booth for discounted tickets, many shows have rush tickets. Talkin' Broadway's site has a list of shows that offer rush and standing room:

Another option is to visit BroadwayBox.com for discount tickets in advance.

I bought tickets for Wicked through ebay. (Great show, by the way) I felt good about the price (way below retail) until I saw what she paid for them. I have know people that have showed up at theatres looking for cancellations & been successful (Spamalot) but I, personally wouldn't count on it. If I need a Broadway fix, I need a Broadway fix!!

jerseygirl, I'm curious what you paid for the tickets on ebay. You say "way below retail" but the ones I've seen on there have all been way ABOVE retail.
Where we they located too if I can ask. I'm not sure why anyone would be selling tickets on ebay below the regular cost as they can easily get a lot more for them.

Hi Neopolitan. I just had to go back through my paypal account to see what I did pay for them. They were $75.00 each. OK, maybe only 25% off retail (I was happy!) but what puzzled me was the price on the tickets (you're talking 6th row left side! Excellent view.) she sent. They said $50 each?! Don't know what her connections were. I was just glad to get tickets for the time & day I requested. Would definitely buy tickets through her again but would rather know who her connections were. If you know what I mean.
