Quaint restaurants and diners

Hello,

A friend of mine and I enjoy driving to restaurants and diners around the Lexington area. We like to drive within an hour or so of the area. We like little out of the way places, not chain restaurants and they certainly don't have to be fancy. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You may want to try posting your inquiry at Chowhounds.com. They have discussion boards for most areas of the country where people share their food adventures. You can get some great recommendations from local foodies there.

I live in Lexington, KY. I'm sorry I thought I had posted to the Kentucky forum. Thanks. Nancy

Unfortunately, there is no KY forum, but a lot of people mistakenly believe there is!

You can specify a Kentucky search option when you post, but all posts end up under the main US forum. So, for those of us (and there are a lot of us) who just come to the US board to look at all the postings, we can't see which search options were chosen when the post was first made. Only those specifically searching under Kentucky will see that this post was made with that search option selected.

Without a doubt, try Science Hill in the Wakefield-Scearce Galleries in Shelbyville, about 40 minutes west of Lexington off I-64.

You have to try Holly Hill Inn, just outside Lexington in Midway. It's excellent.

Surely you've been to the restaurant at Berea College. If it's as good as it was 20 years ago, it's very quaint and good.
