Thanks so much. We want to be away from the party scene. Someone told us that the partying can get pretty wild. True?
We are planning for the last week-end in Sept. which we've heard is "Half way to St. Patty's Day" Does that get wild? We're not adverse to all partying, but would rather relax. It would be nice to rent a house or cabin. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Definitely try D&D Rentals first. They are houses and they are clean and well maintained. St. Patty's Day weekend should be relatively calm as the BIG party is New Years Weekendthe weekend before and that's one of the busiest and craziest of the season. Halloween is pretty nuts too. Bring a sweatshirt or sweater, jeans and jacket or poncho as the weather can turn on a dime that time of year and can be cold and rainy.
If D&D are booked up, ask them for a recommendation for another place. They are great people.

Forgot to add, yea the party scene can get crazy but their are places which are laid back. Tippers Bar at the corner of the Beer Barrel Saloon, The Brewery, Crescent Tavern, the Brewery.
Unless you like crowds and beer spilled on you stay away from the Round House. The Boat House can get rowdy, but the crowd is better behaved than Round House.
For dining:
Mossbacks-Great burgers and salads. Their specials are also good.
Boardwalk-Lobster Bisque only. Skip dinner there as it is expnesive and mediocre.
Erie Isle Tavern-Expensive, sit down with linen napkins, good food.
Brewery-Pizza
Breakfast-Frosty's
Ladds Landing at Ladds Marina-I have not tried this yet, but heard the food is good and the view is great.
Boathouse-Ok for steaks etc. Informal.

Was there over the summer and stayed at the Stagger Inn Bed and Breakfast. Nice place, decent location. Quiet, yet close enough to walk downtown if you care.Cheaper than hotels. Think we paid $85 and that included a continental breakfast. Had a large room with two double beds. Shared bath though. Owners great. Also, we took the ferry. Recommend you take the one that lets you off right downtown. We took the one that lets you off a couple miles away, then had to take a school bus with our luggage to downtown. Kind of a hassle. If you take the one that drops you off downtown, you can walk to the Stagger Inn. We rented a golf cart to get around. About $65 for 24 hours. Have fun!
