Public transportation from Minneapolis to Lutsen

Hi everyone,
I'm visiting friends in Minneapolis and would like to spend a few days skiing in the Lutsen ski resort, which is about 4+ hours driving distance. Problem is, I don't drive and have to figure out a way to get there via public transport. I've found out that there are buses from Minneapolis to Duluth, but that doesn't get me far enough and I can't seem to find anything to Lutsen. Does anyone have suggestions on how to get there via bus/train/shared van etc?
Many thanks in advance!
PS: I'm aiming to go there sometime around Christmas/New Year's

Not many options that I am aware of.

Call the resort/hotel you're staying at and ask them if they know of any shuttles/rides from Duluth to Lutsen. That's about a 2 hour drive.

Put an ad on Craigslist for a ride share?

Do you not drive at all? Your other topic is about a roadtrip so wondering if just your spouse drives or if you're trying to avoid the winter driving?

There are ski hills close to Minneapolis, and one in Duluth if you can't find a way to get to Lutsen.

It is quite a long trec to Lutsen from MLPS. A very popular ski resort in the MLPS area is Buck Hill. www.buckhill.com

If you are set on Lutsen, busses are the only option that I know of, but I am unfamilier with public transportation. Good luck and have fun, ziggypop

ahr, there is a park called Hyland Ski & Snowboard Area right in Bloomington, which is where the Mall of America is located. www.hylandski.com , www.buckhill.com , another is www.threeriversparks.org . Hope this helps , ziggypop

a couple of options you might want to check out is our rideshare board:
http://boreal.org/rideshare/

Or the local transit bus:

Neither one is a surefire deal, but might work for you.

Good luck

Where are you coming from? You can fly to Duluth. From there the transport to Lutsen might be easier. Check with Lutsen resort to see if they have a shuttle. Or try the tourist bureau of Duluth to see if they provide a service. Taxi? Your friends?
