Pub near MadisonSquareGarden.

Any suggestions for a clean, friendly pub nears the Garden for a pre-game brew?

Niles, in the Affinia hotel kitty corner to MSG. Food's not bad, either.

I used to work in that neighborhood.
This will be what you want.

Not right next door, but we like Gingerman 11 East 36th btwn 5th and Madison. If the game is a Friday night I would choose something else as this place will be very crowded.

I like Blarney Rock, just down the block on 33rd. Good food, cash only.

Stout is a great suggestion, a cavernous sports bar with above-average food, but it's not as close to MSG as Tir Na Nog.
