Proposing...Sonoma or SF-Idea's
Hey everyone...planning a trip in a few weeks to Sonoma for a couple of days and then SF for a couple more. I'm planning on proposing to my girlfriend and am looking for suggestions for good locations. Really I'm not looking for a large event, mainly just a fantastic view or experience I can utilize (a romantic picnic somewhere, overlooking the bay, etc). However, I haven't been to the area for nearly 6 years and, honestly, I wasn't exactly scoping out potential site then.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
Thanks

There's a park on the Sausalito side of the Golden Gate bridge that has wonderful views back towards the bridge and city, the name eludes me though. But, I believe it is usually pretty windy there.
Coit tower looks down on the city and is stunning at sunset.
Otherwise, should you be planning on hiring a car for wine tasting, I am sure they can suggest some scenic picnic locations.

I think the earlier poster was thinking of the Marin Headlands on the Northwest side of the Golden Gate Bridge. It is has breathtaking views!
One thought...you may want to wait until late in your trip to propose. Otherwise, if your fiance is anything like I was (way back when), all she'll do the rest of the trip is talk about wedding planning! Could ruin a great trip to two great places!
Definitely buy a special bottle of wine in Sonoma to keep. We honeymooned there and kept a bottle of our favorite Geyser Peak Cabernet and opened it on our 11th (don't ask) anniversary. It wasn't that yummy but it was fun to think of our honeymoon any time we saw the bottle of wine!
Congratulations
