Priceline Hotels
I noticed when bidding on a hotel that you are guarenteed for 2 people. What is the chance of having four people in a room? We are looking into New York City Mid town. Any suggestions?

i think you can forget about priceline for more than two adults.
go to www.hotwire.com and start scouring all the other websites, and perhaps you will find an apt.that will accomodate you better.

A lot of New York City hotels come standard with one bed, possibly a double. In general, though it's not uniformly true, New York hotel rooms are quite small. If you need to guarantee a room with 2 beds, it's best to look somewhere other than priceline.
I've heard good things about Courtyards, and I'd also suggest looking into the Affinia chain. The last time I was in New York my mom and I were in a double/double at the Millennium Hilton, and we both would have characterized the beds as large twins as opposed to double beds - fitting 2 people in each bed would have been a tight squeeze.

No,no, no. You do NOT want to try this.
hotel rooms in NY are typically so small that even 2 may feel cramped. In other cities this is a bad idea. In NYC it's a terrible idea
Priceline guarantees 2 in a room.You agree to 2 in a room.More than 2 violates the agreement
Suggestion is Book 2 rooms, or don't use Priceline this time.

Many NYC hotel rooms have either one double or two twin beds. Even if you happen to get a hotel that has a double double room available - the Priceline bid will no longer be valid (by bidding you made a contact for a room for 2 people). And they can charge you whatever they want for the room.
If it's Jan or Feb and they're fairly empty you might get away with it.
If the hotel is busy - it's likely they won;t have such a room - and almost definite they'll charge much more for it.
