Priceline Coronado, CA Sat night in December?

I need a room for only 1 night at any of the 4 stars in Coronado (to crash after a big party). Unfortunately every hotel that I have called only does 2-3 night minimums for that 1st weekend in December. Would this still apply if I tried to book through priceline or do you think I could posibly just book one saturday night? Not opposed to paying full price - just need the option for 1 night only...

Why don't you just try priceline or hotwire? If they turn you down, they turn you down.

Coronado is one of the best towns to bid using Priceline. For a 4*, you are guaranteed to get the Marriott, Loewes, or the Del.

Since you have a while, you can just keep trying and you may get lucky! $110 to $120 seems to be the current sucessful bid amount.

If not, you can try Glorietta Bay Inn, Coronado Inn, or the Crown City motel.

For a trip at the beginning of Oct, we stayed one night at the Marriot on Coronado, reserved through Priceline. It was great. We were going down to SD for a family reunion of sorts and everyone was going to stay at a specific hotel. We planned to arrive a day early, so we needed a hotel for only 1 night. I bid 4* for Coronado and ended up with the Marriot for $110. SD has a lot of Priceline areas without 4* hotels, so I was able to do free rebids by just adding areas without the 4* hotels in them. I think I started at about $80 and went up from there.

Wow thanks everybody! I actually live in SD, I just don't want to drive home after the event so I've looked everywhere online and I think I've decided since I have so much time, may as well try priceline - really nothing to lose...

I've bid Priceline before but never tried the rebids...if you are doing the wait 3 days thing (rather than choose other areas to add) do they email you when you can bid again or do you just wait 3 days and try again?

lcuy: Seriously, I'd stay anywhere on Coronado - it's just that the whole dang town seems to be booked.

When bidding with priceline, they don't email you after the 72 hours are up - at least I've never gotten this sort of email before.

Sometimes Priceline does email you when your 72 hours are up. Last week I bid for someone and had my bid rejected. 72 hours later, Priceline emailed me and said, "Hey, you can try your bid again now!" I did and I got it this time...
