We're on the upper west side and have power back, but it has gone off twice and come back on, my guess is that the system is a little fragile right now.
We went to NJ last night to see the city in complete darkness, one of the stragest sites I have ever seen.
Going to keep the candles and flashlights handy for a while and the fingers crossed.
LaGuardia, Newark and JFK are a MESS, delays both incoming and outgoing. Call your airline before you leavefor the airport.

THANKS...I FINALLY HEARD FROM MY SON..HIS NEIGHBORHOOD STILL DOESN'T HAVE POWER OR CELL PHN SERV. BUT WEST VILLAGE 2 BLKS AWAY DOES. THEY THINK TONIGHT SOMETIME. I'M GOING TO WAIT UNTIL SUNDAY TO COME IN. I THINK OUTSIDE OF THE INCONVENIENCES, THEY ARE ENJOYING THE WHOLE THING! THEY ARE ENJOYING THE RESTAURANTS IN THE WEST VILLAGE AND CANDLELIGHT AT HOME!

I just was watching the news and the power is back on in The City. Times Square looks back to normal. The cabs and people are out on the streets, and businesses are open. Currently the subways are not in operation, but they are expeced to be in operation by tomorrow.
