My parents stayed at the Executive Towers last year - I saw their room, it was nice but more of a business hotel. Know that the Hilton is two buildings downtown: the "original" Hilton (which is several decades old and shows it) and the newer Executive Towers across the street which is just a few years old. My parents had a room in the newer building. I would recommend getting a room there and not in the older one.
The Vintage Plaza is a "botique hotel" unlike the more business-like Hilton. My friend used to work front desk at the Vintage Plaza and I saw a few of the rooms. It's a decent place, certainly more "funky" than the business-like Hilton. I would stay at either place. They are both in good locations downtown.
Tons of reviews of both hotels, presumably, at TripAdvisor.com .

Your last thread on this subject probably confused you more than it helped, yamamar. ;-)
Andrew characterized the two hotels well. Hilton is almost all business, and Vintage Plaza almost anything but business. I have friends who chose to spend an anniversary weekend there. As Andrew says, location of both is good, but personally I prefer Vintage Plaza's.

I would choose the Vintage. Wine tasting each evening, smaller more personal service.
Paleys is good but there is such a big choice!
Just a few of my favorites...
Fenouil..might not be that reasonable.
Olea
Everett Street Bistro-reasonable
Piazza Italia-very reasonable
Mama Mia - not far from your hotel, Italian in a Bordello style space lol..
hope this helps.

I would also choose the Vintage Plaza! The suites are heavenly!
There are so many great restaurants in that area! if you like Thai food then go next door to Typhoon! the best drunken noodles and ahi larb in town!
Blue Hour is also very good although it is a bit further away in the Pearl District.
