dcd - Don't despair! -- You want Pecos Pit on 1st Ave a few blocks north of Safeco Field. It's the best! People line up for it early every day. It's just a hole in the wall place with outside seating only, or get it to go. I guarantee it will be worth your while!

In Eugene there is no special place to get seafood really - most restaurants just have a seafood entre.
However, Newmans Fish Market has a walk up window where you can get fish and chips made with fresh seafood- halibut, salmon - so thats a good lunch choice.
There are some outside tables for dining
You also might try El Vaquero in the Fifth St Market - beside having a GREAT drink called the Richmond Gimlet - they do usually have a seafood dish
Its one of my favorite places to eat
There is also McGraths Seafood Restaurant- but I seldom eat there so cant give a recommendation.
Also Chefs Kitchen which is just a little hole in the wall has great food-
chef buys whatever is fresh that day so
assume there is usually a seafood dish
have fune

Restaurants in Salem are not where you'll find great cuisine. For your group, I would say The Ram or The Brick. There's a place called Adam's Ribs, which I know nothing about. Check out this site if you're interested on one guy's take of Salem food: http://salemfood.blogspot.com/
In Portland, your salmon options are plentiful. McCormick's is a good seafood place, as is Salty's on the Columbia and Alberta Oyster Bar are some other options. For BBQ, I've heard rave reviews of Podnah's Pit BBQ. There's also a BBQ place out in the 'burbs, which sounds like it wouldn't be a problem for your group to get there. It's in Beaverton and it's called Reo's Ribs.
Good luck, and enjoy the Pacific NW! What, no Beavers game when you're in Portland?

Gardyloo, thanks for checking in. I will be posting a 'Cue report as soon as I can figure out how to post a link to some pictures using flickr or shutterbug. I gave my new digital camera a workout on this trip but I'm an idiot when it comes to editing, posting, etc........... Dave
