We're staying at a small condo on Poipu Beach, but would like to visit some nice places nearby for cocktails and pupus at sunset. Any recommendations or caveats? We are not big drinkers, other than 'drinking in the scenery'! Thanks.

I don't know if it's still there, but a few years ago, we enjoyed a fabulous sunset at The Beach House - Koloa. It's very near Poipu (if not at Poipu). They open the floor to ceiling glass walls to enjoy the sunset. You can watch the surfers from the restaurant...and the cocktails and hors d'oeuvres were excellent. If it is there, there is no better spot at that part of the island. But certainly, Princeville has some of the best restaurants on the island overall.

beach House in indeed good for sunset views. This fact is well known. Get ther early for good seat.

Brennecke's is also good. Get a windo table.

We always go to the Seaview Terrace at the Hyatt for cocktails and pupus. Great ahi appetizer, beautiful setting and a beautiful view.

Brennecke's is great - be sure to watch for the green flash! On the north shore, you can't beat the Princeville hotel terrace restaurant.
