please recommend a guide book for nyc/soho

Well, folks, like the title says, i am trying to find a guide book for nyc/soho. hoping for someting not too commercial, kinda like the People's Guide, but i don't think there is one for nyc. I appreciate any and all recommendations. Thank you.

There are dozens of guide books to NYC (in any bookstore here and presumably online at Aazona and B&N) but I'm not aware of one only on SoHo, although all of them will cover it. For that I wold look at the website of NYMagazine and Time Out New York - as well as neighborhood info in the NY Times Real Estate Section.

Not exactly a "book", but a wonderful source for SoHo is The Red Map. It is a street by street, building by building map of the area. You can buy them on-line or in most bookstores in NY and many shopping outlets.

Another guidebook that I love is ACCESS-NY. Again it is laid out street by street for each NY neighborhood, so its quite easy to make your way around.

I don't think you'll find a book specific to Soho. notfortourists.com is a good book to own if you live in NYC. Here's a link to the section including Soho http://www.notfortourists.com/Hood.a...areNYUNoHoSoHo
urbandaddy.com might also provide the kind of info you want. I don't know how up to date this is http://www.artseensoho.com/map.html

Time Out NY is good.

Why Soho?
