Please help a Dummy with a non cancellable room in Honolulu

I dummied up and have an extra room at The Hawaii Prince in Honolulu for the nights of March 25th & 26th. It's a priceline room so I can't cancel it.

I did contact priceline but they oculdn't hear the plea in my voice and would not budge. If there is anyone who needs this room for 2 nights for a great price ($343.11-negotiable)please email me at [email protected]

I don't have any problems with priceline on this. I have used them numerous times and should have known better than to book a room for AN Other.

The AN Other's have no problem reimbursing me for my loss, but I would prefer for someone else to be able to have a great room for a great price.

Wish I could help. I had no idea rooms purchased through Priceline were transferrable.

Dukey, priceline rooms are not transferrable. However, since they are both in my name I can check in with another person. I have had more than 1 room with priceline numerous times (this weekend in Atlanta,as a matter of fact)..and, I check into both, but it's obvious I can't sleep in both!

They're not transferrable. The OP would have to register for the room and pay for it and leave a CC for incidentals. Anyone "sub-staying" as it were would have to pay the OP back.

I bid on 2 rooms. Both in my name, both billed to my cc on file. We were supposed to be travelling together on same flight so I knew (NOT) that we would be checking in at the same time.

iceu, I figured it out so I deleted my post thinking nobody had seen it yet. But you were too speedy for me.

Sorry for the confusion, I am the dummy here.

It's still 62 days away. I'm sure it will work out.

Believe me, I wish I could delete some things I've posted on here. Especially this one! P_M, you gonna tell us your secret?

I tranferred a NY hotel stay to my parents by adding my father's name to the reservation BUT I kept my credit card on file. I wasn't able to go the week we made the reservation and my parents were able to enjoy the stay in my place.

The only tricky thing about adding someone else to the reservation is that if they demolish the room or run up a large room tab you are also on the hook because your credit card number is on the reservation.

Just be careful about who you give the room to and hopefully you'll find someone to transfer the room to. Good luck.

Deleting a post:

First of all, this cannot be done if you've logged off or closed your browser since posting. Also I don't know if there's a time limit since I've only tried to do it within 10-15 minutes of the errant post. Here's how:

When typing your post, ALWAYS do "preview my reply." If you go straight to "post my reply," then deleting it will not be possible.

After previewing, post your message.

Once it's posted, hit the back button. You'll see an option to delete, edit or post. From there you can click delete.

If you have posted your message and moved on to other threads, keep hitting the back button until you get to the preview screen of the post you wish to delete.

Give it a try!!

Actually, even if you post without previewing you can hit the back button on your browser until you see your original post - then hit edit. Change it and repost. (at least this works for me)

Also, you can change old posts after you have closed your browser by accessing your history.
