Please Help

Hi
I was wondering if anyone has stayed or knows about the Adelaide Inn in San Francisco. I am thinking about making a booking there (as it is within my budget) but want to make sure that it is clean and in a good position. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Leigh,
If this is the youth hostel off Taylor Street, I have been there (to visit someone) and thought it was very nice. It was like a nice old home - very clean and charming. It's an old multi storied structure tucked away down a dead end alley. The people I saw there were all well mannered youths, mostly from Europe. I have also been to the hostel at Fort Mason, and the Adelaide was more desirable. The Adelaide is very central whereas Fort Mason is on the northern edge near the Golden Gate.

The Adelaide is not in a very safe area of SF. This is an area known for drug dealing and other street crimes.

Leigh, I'm not sure how often you visit this board, but if you visit with any regularity then you know that Shane (using a multitude of monikers) does nothing but spew false and disparaging remarks about San Francisco. He will shortly come back with another volley. Just ignore it. The area of the Adelaide is safe and convenient.

Martin, For your information, I always post under Shane. Just because you have a difference of opinion, you should not be the one resorting to false accusations.

Leigh, I am a native of SF and I can assure you that the Adelaide is not in an area of town you want to stay in. Let us know if you have any other places in mind.

Give us a break, Shane. Don't make us pull all of your past posts under different names.

Martin, Cal,

Why do you feel that you need to post under multiple names just to get your false points across?

Serious question. This same issue came up on another thread about another poster. Since no registration is required, how can anyone be so sure when someone is posting under multiple names? (And wouldn't it be funny if the people accusing Shane of being someone else were really all just the same Shane person playing a big game?)
