Have the opportunity to see either Beauty and the Beast or Cabaret. Is one recommended over the other?

Go with Beauty and the Beast. I didn't even want to go see this show and wound up absolutely loving it. The staging is fantastic!

I can think of very few musicals that are so different from each other than these two are. Do you want something light and frothy (i.e., Beauty and the Beast) or something more serious (i.e., Cabaret)?
If I was offered both, I'd go with Cabaret in a flash!

age and background would be helpful. If your from Iowa go for Beauty and the Beast. If you have seen other shows, go for Caberet.

Unfortunately, there are some decisions you have to make yourself. Otherwise, ask those who know you best what they think you would prefer. Your friends would be your best guide. None of us know you and have no idea of what types of things you like, so we aren't going to be that helpful. We'd only be imposing our tastes which could be quite different from yours.
