Sushi Lovers' New York Weekend

I'm looking for advice...I'll be spending Saturday and Sunday In the greaest City and I'm not quite sure...soooo many choices..... soooo little time!!!! Price doesn't matter, but I think I'm looking for that certain atmosphere that's not really popular with the tourists....but a must with the "hard core" Sushi cravers!!!

Nobu is the most well-known, and it is outstanding but pricey. Very hard to get a reservation there. Next Door Nobu (next door is easier to get into because they don't take reservations.

If you want somewhere cheaper, Tomoe Sushi in the Village is great. No reservations, but long lines to get in. Also terrific in the Village is Hasaki, on 9th Street east of 3rd Ave. There's a place called Jewel Bako that is pretty new that I haven't yet tried, but I've heard amazing things about it. It is also in the Village. Not sure whether or not they take reservations.

Yama and Japonica, mentioned by another poster, are more than fine choices, but not as good as the ones I've recommended, IMO.

Some of the best:

Nobu and Nobu Next Door in TriBeCa

Blue Ribbon Sushi in Soho

Zutto in both the West Village and TriBeCa (cool space, more adventurous menu)

Sushi Yasuda (43rd street or so?)

Three of us are also going to NYC, but only two of us like sushi; do these places offer other choices?
