Planning a Girlfriends Getaway, need suggestions!

I am in the process of planning a 2 or 3 nights weekend girlfriends retreat, possibly April or May 2006. I am looking for a very nice but affordable beach front resort type hotel, with fabulous pool, pool bar, nice seating around the pool for drinks and chatting, and very near to shopping and nightlife and good restaurants. We are all from Philly, in our low to mid forties, and prefer not to drive anywhere, but stay within 2 hours flying time. I was thinking about Florida, but all suggestions welcome. Moderate price range is best for all of us.

All suggestions welcome. If you need more information let me know.

I forgot to add, that if its not beachfront, thats fine too, just so the hotel has a more a resort type feel, with good amenities ie; pool, spa, nice hotel bar, etc.

Search South Beach and you will get some good ideas. Fort Lauderdale might be fun for you, too.

I agree with Myrtle Beach, we go there every year on vacation but I also love The Grove Park Inn Asheville NC. It is also a spa now and it can't be too bad flying time. The hotel is awesome and it is beautiful there.
