well if you have a car a favorite place of our is just past the Strip District called Church Brew-as long as no one would be offended by a huge BEER VAT on the altar.

(for lunch or not so fine dining)
Fun, good food, good beers!
There are seveal places in the Strip District and I rarely eat downtown proper.
But you have Ruth's Chris, Morton's
There is an Italian place--Lidia's in the Strip
IF you want to impress find a place and take the Duquesne Incline up to Mt Washington for a GREAT night time view.
There are several options up there but not sure which ones are currently considered the best...

We just returned from Pittsburgh. One of our favorite meals was at The Original Fish Market, which is located at the Westin. Fabulous food, we ate so much we could hardly move!
I also recommend Lidia's in the Strip district, a very short cab ride from your hotel. Very good italian!
