Pink's
Pink's signature chili cheese dog is worth waiting in line for.
709 N La Brea Ave
Los Angeles, CA 90038

Restaurant Review
The Scene
Everyone loves Pink's, from lunching businessmen and penny-pinching families to ravenous club kids at 3am. Even celebrities wait in the perpetual line. Orson Welles used to come once a week and down a dozen chili cheese dogs.
The Food
The chili cheese dog is the be-all and end-all of Pink's. A long, thin, 100-percent beef Hoffy, snug in its lightly steamed bun, oozing with chili and topped with a slab of neon-orange cheese--this dog has earned its signature status. But the menu has evolved since its pushcart beginnings; the 21 menu items, including mutants such as the pastrami-Reuben dog and the bacon-burrito dog, are worth the risk of indigestion.
ENJOY!

Coming from Anaheim, stay on the 10 freeway which becomes the Santa Monica Fwy in LA. Believe there's an exit at La Brea--you'll see signs for the tar pits and the art museum. Look for La Brea and Melrose. Oh Pinks----yum, yum, yum. Have one for me!

Coming from Anaheim, you'll either get on the 5 or the 405. The 5 is much faster. Take the 5 north until you see the signs for the 10 West (or it might say 10 Santa Monica). Continue on the 10 West to La Brea. When you get off the freeway, turn right on La Brea (i.e. North). It's about 4 miles north, heading past Washington Blvd., Venice Blvd., Pico Blvd. Olympic Blvd., and Wilshire Blvd. On the other side (i.e. north west) of Melrose. On your left-hand side.
But that's quite a journey for a hot dog! (About an hour in non-rush hour traffic).

Rumor has it that Orson Welles downed 15 chili dogs in one sitting a few years (obviously) back. the chili dog is a cathartic experience here, almost better than the appearance of the Virgin Mary on a tortilla at a restaurant in the Los Feliz district.
