Thanks HowardR, I'll let you in on a little secret......
I took over 900 pictures during the trip, so I BETTER have a few decent ones! LOL
Seriously though, thanks. I try my best to not just take "snapshots" (though those have their place) and actually give some thought to things like the lighting, shadows, framing, etc.

KTinTX....I'll let you in on a little secret: I too take hundreds of photos on a vacation!
You've definitely have a good eye and seem to follow the two pieces of advice that I offer when asked about improving one's picture-taking:
1. Take an extra 20 seconds to frame the picture in your viewfinder.
2. Remember that what the camera sees covers a lot less territory than what your eyes see.

HowardR,
What type of camera do you use? Or, if you're like me, what cameraS, do you use! LOL...
The biggest bummer, photographically speaking, during this trip was that my new Canon underwater housing for my little A70 flooded during our Molokini snorkel trip. The camera is still working, and I've done some bathtub testing this week and seem to have it leakproof now. I think the seal is just extremely sensitive to having the right amount of grease and ABSOLUTELY NO spec of dust on it.

KTinTX, here's another little secret: I have two point-and-shoot cameras (a Canon and a Samsun) neither of which cost more than $300-$400! Both have zoom lenses and one has a panoramic option...That's it for special features.
Still, my pictures were good enough for an exhibit at our local library. The title? "A Good Eye Is More Important Than an Expensive Camera!"
(I do have some photos on line, which ttake a bit of direction to locate. Rather than boring everyone else send me your email address and we'll continue the dialog (hsravisataoldotcom--obviously substitute the symbols for "at" and "dot".)
