Phoenix Airport to Hyatt Downtown

We will be traveling into Phoenix next weekend to stay at Hyatt Regency Downtown on 2nd Street. Is is OK for two women to travel via light-rail from airport to Hyatt?

you're going into some really dicey areas outside of PHX airport and into downtown..I would split a cab..probably cost you less than $10 bucks per person.

I'm not sure that the areas are dicey at all (although the Hyatt is really dated, next time try The Clarendon)... you just need to take the Phoenix Airport shuttle to the light rail station (free), then hop on the Metro to the 2nd Street and Washington station ($1.75 ea) and you'll be there in about 28-37 minutes from the moment you get on the airport bus. All stations have cameras on the platforms as well as on the trains, as do all buses. You can use your ATM/Debit/Credit card to pay for your fare too.

Thanks/Ben

Thanks, Ben! Your information is helpful.
Conference is at the Hyatt. Cannot change that! The transportation info is great!

Don't you love when you try and give someone some honest info and they diss you and tell the other poster that 'their' information was helpful..my girl friend was harrassed last week on the light rail...it wasn't a good situation.
There are cameras everywhere in life Ben..doesn't mean that bad things don't happen because a camera is there.
