Philadelphia accomodations for four LIVELY seniors

We'll be driving to Philadelphia the end of April. We'll looking for a hotel/motel/ b&b - within walking distance of some of the sights would be nice - we're aiming for the Barnes collection and other art museums among other things. Thanks for any help you can give.

p.s. We're looking for very moderate or inexpensive, clean, simple, comfortable beds.

There is also a Holiday Inn Express at 13th/Walnut. You could walk to all the posh shops and restaurants around Rittenhouse Sq. from this location.

Deb, I found this on Google and thought you might be interested. There are some hotels that are giving packages, two nights plus free parking. I imagine parking in Philly could get expensive. I looked at the list and thought Embassy Suites would be good because you will get two room plus a little kitchenette. Check the site out at: http://www.gophila.com/C/Places_to_S...ostay-dropdown

Also, Priceline would be good.

We have often used Priceline to bid for a room and won the Hyatt Penn's Landing. It's on the waterfront, at about Walnut Street, so fairly close to the Independence Hall area at 5th Street. Last time, in October, we got it for $85 (the Hyatt website rate was $224).

Priceline only guarantees a room for 2 people, but we have never had a problem calling this hotel and requesting a room with 2 beds. We've easily stayed here with 4 people in one room. (Unfortunately, now with 2 teenagers, we usually get 2 rooms so everyone has a little bit of space.)
