Pet friendly hotels?

Hello - taking the two dogs with us to Florida from VA, and want to stop halfway along I-95 in lower South Carolina. It’s the first time we’ve taken the dogs, and I’m not having much luck finding info on hotels that will take 2 (small to mid-size) well-behaved dogs. Any advice, please?

La Quinta hotels are usually dog friendly. Kimptons, too, but not sure if they have one what will work for you.

LaQuintas allow dogs with no fees.
Other chains vary widely. Even when they allow pets, they may charge per night and/or a cleaning fee.
Other options are Hotel Indigos and Kimptons, but you're not gong to find those along I95 in SC.

Motel 6s all take dogs. Was amused to read that Stephen King in driving from Maine to Florida always stays there, and he has a few bucks but don't know if he travels with a dog !
