Pennsylvania - Advice please

We're planning a trip to the Poconos & Hersey May 19-26. We are spending 3 days in the Poconos & the rest of the time in Hershey. I'm now wondering about the Poconos. I checked other posts (most dating back a few years) and it appears most folks would not recommend it. We're booked at the Skytop Lodge, however I'm wondering if there will be anything for us to do with a 4 year old at this time of year. I'd appreciate any feedback regarding things to do in the Poconos and the Skytop Lodge. If there's someplace better to spend the first leg of our trip, I'd welcome the feedback. Thanks

If you tell us where you're coming from, and what you're looking to do, it might be easier to make suggestions.

Hi KZ...I remember that The Skytop Lodge was a big stone manor house...as if it could be transplanted to England, Ireland, or Scotland...they also have an inn and cottages...golf is their main activity although they do have hiking trails...I think it may too early in the season for boating, waterparks, or fairs and festivals...there are some miniature golf parks and I remember there was also a place called the Snake and Animal Farm in Marshalls Creek...on Route 6 in Milford there's a place called Apple Valley Village, which has a very nice family style restaurant and shops...you can walk around and feed the ducks and see fruit trees and waterfalls...I usually don't like to sound discouraging, but because of the time of year there may not be many things to do that appeal to a 4 year old.

Thank you for your replies. In response to an earlier question, we're driving from New England. We haven't been to the Poconos and thought it may be a destination worth exploring. We prefer nice resorts with activities for our 4 yr old to enjoy (Skytop??). We're not looking for amusement parks or animal parks since we're heading to Hershey. I guess I'm looking for feedback as to what there is to do in the Poconos. We are aware it's too chilly to swim outdoors. Of course, with a 4 yr old we're somewhat limited. Hope this helps. KZ
