Parkview Marigny in Nola?

I have reservations so stay at the Parkview Marigny on Frenchmen Street. Is anyone familiar with this B&B? I know it is outside of the quarter. Is the area safe? I got a good rate, and their website looks terrific. I'm hoping the B&B won't disappoint.

I live on Bourbon, a few blocks away from Parkview Marigny. You won't be disappointed...it's a lovely home, the rooms are beautiful and the hosts are wonderful. Location on Frenchman Street (one of the newer entertainment zones) is good too. Enjoy your time in New Orleans!

I think this is in the warehouse district. You'll want to take a cab at night.

It's not in the Warehouse District. It's on Frenchmen overlooking Washington Square Park. As for a cab at night, that's your call. I walk the neighborhood at night all the time...

Thanks for your replies. I feel confident that I made a good choice. This will be my second trip to N.O., so I'm a little familiar with the area. But I don't know anything about Washington Square Park. Is it nice?

The park is on Frenchmen. Typical urban park...only one block in size. A great southwestern restaurant called Santa Fe sits on one corner, and the bars and clubs of Frenchmen begin at the other. In the middle sits a row of nice homes, including Parkview Marigny B&B. Good location, and be sure to eat at Santa Fe!

Feelings Cafe at 2600 Chartres is a good restaurant in the Marigny. Kind of funky, off the beaten track - good brunch. Have fun.

We have returned from New Orleans and can assure anyone reading this that the Parkview Marigny is wonderful. The owner is very attentive and personable, the home well-appointed, the rates very reasonable (I'd consider it a steal considering the rates other hotels and B&Bs were offering). Frenchmen is only a couple of blocks from the quarter, and much quieter. I never felt unsafe. We ate at The Praline Connection four times and loved their home-style southern food. We didn't make it to Feelings Cafe, but we did have dessert one night from Santa Fe, and it was wonderful. (We're from California, and we can have that kind of food anytime, so we didn't have a full meal there.) I recommend the B&B and the location for anyone who doesn't want to be/have to be in the middle of the quarter.
