Thanks for letting me know of a positive experience with the valet parking at the Omni. Everything about the place looks great, but I have heard 2 horror stories from friends who stayed there about their valet parking and was concerned that it might take hours to get my car.when I needed it. I know we wont need it much, but those times that you do...

One of the things I have never seen posted on the Internet is a comprehensive list of Chicago parking garages. So, if you want to save the difference between valet parking and self-parking ($10-15 a day), you'll have to do a little research, either before your trip via

or after you arrive.
Caveat: a lot of surface lots and downtown lots cater to office business, and don't stay open late or on Sundays. Around North Michigan Ave., look for garage entrances on the side streets: 711 N. Wabash is one close to your hotel, and another is east of Michigan between Superior and Huron, a big garage that stays open for Northwestern Hospital traffic.
