Palm Springs

Anyone ever stay at Holiday Inn MTN RST? Also looking for best sights/tours for people with very young children.

There's a discovery museum in the Palm Springs area that caters to children. And the Living Desert is another good place to take kids.

Don't know how young the kids are. Would the aerial tram be of interest? or too young? One of the hotels has a special shallow kid's pool, but don't recall which one.

Jennifer:

As a resident, I think it is one of the better values and locations. It is right in downtown PS, with loads of shops and restaurants nearby. I have put visitors there on occasion and they have always been satisfied.

As far as stuff for kids I can suggest the following:

- CDMOD. Children's Discovery Museum of the Desert in Rancho Mirage.

- The Living Desert. Lots of animals, activities.

- PS Aerial Tramway. Goes up Mt. San Jacinto. As long as there is no undue fear of heights it would be fine.

- Horseback riding at Smoketree Stables in PS.

- Jeep tours. Great, but maybe not really for kids under eight.

- Oasis Water Park. Opens in spring for the season.

- Market Night. Every Thursday night downtown. Palm Cyn is closed and there is a section with pony rides, inflatable bouncies, etc.
