I'm not sure what you mean by "Desert Springs". If you mean "Desert Hot Springs", it's just another town, like Palm Desert or Rancho Mirage. .
So, what to do? Well, there's fabulous shopping on El Paseo, great restaurants all over, tennis and the pool. Other than that, there's Joshua Tree and Anza Borrego, hiking, horseback riding, the tram to the top of Mt. Jacinto. There are a couple of good museums. What are you interested in?

There are also a couple of street fairs, one on every Thursday night:

One on weekends at the College of the Desert:

The Living Desert Zoo and Botanical Garden is very interesting:

Outlet Shopping at Cabazon:

There are also several Casinos, if that interests you at all.
I'm also not sure what "Desert Springs" you are talking about.

Ditto on the outlets at Cabazon and of course the very fun Hadley's is a must-stop for traveler's on I-10 and close to the outlet stores. In Palm Desert you will be close to Palm Springs where there is good shopping, antiquing and good restaurants. And don't forget the spas!

Are you asking about the Marriott Desert Springs Resort in PD? They have great Spa there, as well as many restaurants to choose from and a gorgeous lobby.

We visited the desert for the first time this past weekend and had a wonderful time. We stayed at the Westin Mission Hills in Rancho Mirage and went to Palm Desert for the shopping on El Paseo, we loved lunch at Tommy Bahama's Tropical Cafe and then went to Indian Wells to the Spa at Esmarelda where I had a hair style and my husband had a massage and foot treatment. Their spa is very nice here, the facilities are beautiful and I enjoyed the hot and cool pools for relaxing at the spa. This resort is beautiful! ***kim***
