Palm Coast, FL Help
Can anyone tell me the closest and/or best airport to fly into to get to Palm Coast?
The closest I've seen are either Orlando (@1.5 hrs away?) or Jacksonville (@1hr away?). Isn't there a closer airport? Also, I'm coming from NYC (LGA preferred but can fly out of JFK or EWR) and not many flights seem to access Jacksonville from here.
Also, my friend is moving there and will be down checking out the area this month. If anyone can suggest interesting sites, restaurants or places that will help her get a feel of the area that would also be appreciated.
Thanks

Daytona Beach has a closer airport than Jax or Orlando, but I bet it would cost a lot more to fly there and there will be even less flights into it (if at all). Your best bet is JAX. I don't know much about Palm Coast, but I do know it's one of the fastest growing areas in the state. Daytona (30 min south) has great restaurants and St. Augustine (30 min north) has even better restaurants. Hope that helps!

Wow, I just had to respond because hubby and I just purchased land there and are building a home in Palm Coast. Nice to find someone that knows the area
Anyways, there is Marineland nearby, www.marineland.net which is a sea life park with dolphins and sharks. Also as mentioned above St. Augustine is only about 30 mins away with lots of attractions (trolley rides, ghost tours, etc), a very nice town to walk around with several good restaurants. Best of luck to you and your relocating pal!

As a St. Auggie native, the best & closest airport would be jacksonville. Daytona Intl airport is closer but I dont any low fare carriers fly in/out of there and could be expensive. Southwest/Airtran/Us airways service JAX. Orlando would be an extra 25-30 drive time considering location/roads in area/big airport itself. Southwest/Airtran service there too. Jetblue does have fares right now as low as 96.00 one way from JFK to Orlando.

What is the Palm Coast? Is that Jacksonville? Where is it you want to go? I can't remember which moniker-coast is which? And how far each moniker covers. I was thinking this was Daytona Beach, in which case Orlando would be closest via the Beeline, I believe it's called.
