Pacific Beach Hotel, Oahu

I've been searching a 5 day vacation in either Maui or Oahu. Based on my limited travel budget (about $2,000)from LAX I've received several quotes. The one recommended by one travel agent comes out slightly over $2,000 (1 adult and two children). I really want a kids program and "fun" pool. Can anyone provide other options? or tell me what you think about the Pacific Beach Hotel. It all sounds good on paper. Travel date is last week of June, 2004.

Thanks in advance.

Is the 2k including airfare from LAX, and if so, how much does that leave for a hotel? Did you price airfare only through suntrips.com or pleasantholidays.com? I'd use priceline to really save in Hawaii. you can get many nice resorts for 50% off. You can get a 4 star on the beach in Oahu for $80-$85. Go to biddingfortravel.com with details for how to bid.

Thanks for replying Travelinwifey. The $2M includes airfare/hotel and car. Your recommendation will be my next project, pricing individually.

Yes, definitely worth looking into. While travel agents are very good in many respects, they just can't access those super-low Priceline rates. If you're lucky you should be able to get airfare for less than $300 from those consolidators, and then maybe you can even extend your stay! Have a great time.

PS, If you don't already know this I just wanted to mention that Tues and Wed departures are sometimes much cheaper. Good luck.
