Not sure if you had the chance to see the Chinese Garden too, downtown, but it's 15 minutes from the Japanese Garden.

If you get back up there again, and are curious, the photo is on this album...

...#14 and #15 in there today anyway...

http://www.mdvaden.com/album_Oregon.shtml

Once in slideshow view, click the tiny blue text "x-large" under the frame for full view. Check out the detail. Each tiny stone for walking on, was individually arranged.

It's not really my style, but I appreciate the craftsmanship.

Hello P_M - what a delightful report! I guess I missed it when I was gone. Thanks to mdvaden for popping it up again.

A girls' weekend, how fun! And no better place than the PNW for "escaping" our dreaded heat. (It was 100 during the game today - yuck!)

Regarding, "I didn't mean to suggest TX beaches are not fun, they are just completely different from what we saw in the Pacific NW. I hope I haven't offended any of my fellow Texans." No offense taken!

Take care, sweetie.

Glad you liked these, kopp. Thanks m_d for bringing this to the top, it reminded me that I have been an irresponsible Fodorite for not posting pics sooner. I bow my head in shame.

But here they are now, enjoy.

Thanks for the link, cmcfong. Our city's slogan is Keep Austin Weird--does it make sense now?

Nice pictures, P_M. I love flowers too. It seems everywhere I go I'm taking flower pictures. Have you ever been to the Dallas Arboretum during their springtime flower festivals? Unbelievable displays there.

From your image album link, I see that you took the short hike to the top of Multnomah Falls (photo looking down) and also found the Vista House. I recognize the street lamps on the edge.

Looks like you had a good weather day at Cannon Beach - not too much wind.

Hi & thanks P_M. Glad you enjoyed our neck of the woods. I'm in Seattle but still take pride for everything in the Pacific Northwest.

I've had ono in Seattle and Hawaii both.
